West Bank: Settlers perform Talmudic prayers in the Jordan Valley and burn homes and vehicles south of Nablus

The Al-Baydar human rights organization said that Israeli settlers performed Talmudic prayers, held dances and a singing party in the Hammamat al-Malih area of the northern Jordan Valley, noting that these practices raise concerns among the residents and reflect ongoing attempts to control agricultural lands and residential areas.

The organization added that the continued incursions by settlers increase tension and threaten the security of residents and their property, calling on the concerned authorities to intervene to protect them and stop settlement activities in the area.

In southern Nablus, 10 Palestinians were injured early Monday morning in an attack by settlers on the towns of Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya and Qusra, according to local sources.

The head of the al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya village council, Yaqoub Awais, said that a group of settlers attacked a Bedouin encampment north of the town, assaulting residents and injuring 10 people, two of whom were hospitalized. He added that the settlers set fire to about 10 vehicles and two houses, one of which was completely destroyed by the flames.

Meanwhile, anti-settlement activist Abdul-Dayem Al-Wadi reported that settlers stormed the town of Qusra in another attack and burned a vehicle before clashes broke out with Palestinian youths, forcing them to withdraw.

This comes amid escalating settler attacks in the occupied West Bank since October 8, 2023, targeting Palestinian villages and communities, especially in areas near settlements, and including killing, injury, arrest, demolition, displacement and settlement expansion.

These attacks resulted in the martyrdom of more than 1,140 Palestinians, the injury of about 11,750 others, in addition to the arrest of about 22,000.
