AC Milan failed to qualify for the Champions League after losing 1-2 to Cagliari

AC Milan is certain to fail to appear in the Champions League next season after losing 1-2 to Cagliari in the final week of the 2025/26 Serie A season at the San Siro Stadium on Monday.

The Rossoneri had taken the lead through an early goal from Alexis Saelemaekers. Cagliari turned the game around through goals from Gennaro Borrelli and Juan Rodriguez.

This defeat left Milan in sixth place in the standings with 70 points, securing only a Europa League spot.

Victories by AS Roma and Como in other matches caused the Rossoneri to be eliminated from the race for Europe's elite competition.

Meanwhile, Cagliari finished in 14th place with 43 points, as reported on the official Legaserie a website.

Milan actually started the match perfectly. Massimiliano Allegri's team took the lead after just two minutes.
