Rwandan President Paul Kagame concluded his two-day state visit to Botswana with a visit to the headquarters of the Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTC Botswana), the flagship of the country's diamond industry.


To mark the event, company employees unveiled a large portrait of the Rwandan head of state made of diamonds. DTC Botswana, a joint venture owned equally by the Botswana government and the South African De Beers Group, is considered the largest rough diamond sorting and valuation structure in the world, with a capacity of up to 45 million carats per year. year.


This visit was also marked by the signing of six bilateral agreements between Rwanda and Botswana, intended to strengthen economic cooperation and stimulate trade between the two countries.


Among the agreements reached is a memorandum of understanding between the Botswana Investment and Trade Center and the Rwanda Development Council, the agency responsible for promoting Rwandan investment and economic development.
