David Alaba agrees to part ways with Real Madrid

 




  Spanish League club Real Madrid announced that they and senior defender David Alaba have agreed to part ways when the player's contract expires at the end of this season.

Quoted from the club's official website on Saturday, Real Madrid expressed its gratitude to Alaba and for being part of a team that has marked one of the most successful periods in their history.

Real Madrid also wishes David Alaba and his family the best in their next chapter, and the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will also host a final tribute during the final home game of the season.

Real Madrid President Florentio Perez also expressed his gratitude to Alaba, who he said had shown love to the supporters through his dedication.

"David Alaba carries the affection of all Madridistas for his dedication, hard work, and iconic image on our way to our fourteenth title, symbolizing the celebration of a victory that is now part of our club's history. Real Madrid will always be his home," said Perez.

The Austrian international joined Real Madrid from German club Bayern Munich on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.

During his time at Real Madrid, Alaba made 131 appearances across various competitions, contributing five goals and nine assists in 9,581 minutes of playing time.

In addition, the 33-year-old player also presented 11 titles for Real Madrid, namely two Champions Leagues, two Club World Cups, two European Super Cups, two Spanish Leagues, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.
