While delivering a guest lecture at the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia, Depok, on Monday, he said that Indonesia could maintain national development amidst past geopolitical conflicts, thus becoming more prepared to face an increasingly dynamic world.
"Today, Indonesia is much better prepared. We have stronger resources, better economic capacity, and advanced technology," Havas said.
He also said that Indonesia has extensive experience in navigating the complexities of global geopolitics since its independence and has successfully survived to this day.
Indonesia was also able to manage diplomatic relations in a Cold War situation, where superpowers competed for interests, coupled with ideological conflicts and complex geopolitical dynamics.
