Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli widened his lead in the Formula 1 (F1) world championship race after winning the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix (GP) at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
He finished first, while his teammate and closest rival, George Russell, failed to finish the race due to engine problems.
This victory was Antonelli's fourth in a row and puts the young Italian driver 43 points ahead of Russell in the standings, as reported on the official F1 website.
The Canadian Grand Prix was dramatic from the start, particularly due to the heated duel between the Mercedes drivers. Russell and Antonelli engaged in an aggressive battle for the lead throughout the first half of the race.
