The Ministry of Youth and Sports stated that the national sports center area to be built in Rancabungur District, Bogor Regency, West Java, will be equipped with international standard sports facilities ranging from aquatics to rowing.
Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Gunawan Suswantoro at the Bogor Regent's Hall, Cibinong, Monday, said the National Sports Academy and National Team Training Center were built to support the development of 21 nationally superior sports branches that have been designated by President Prabowo Subianto.
"The goal is to train athletes who are selected to become world-class athletes," said Gunawan.
He explained that all sports facilities and infrastructure will be built in an integrated manner on 500 hectares of land that has been designated by the central government in the Candali-Cimulang area, Rancabungur District.
According to him, the facilities being built will not only be competition and training arenas, but also education centers, sports research, and athlete dormitories.
"The schools and sports venues are all fully equipped, even for conducting research on one of the sports, we have everything ready," he said.
Gunawan said the sports facilities prepared include aquatics, athletics, badminton, rock climbing, soccer, martial arts, and rowing, according to the list of 21 nationally superior sports.
