Indonesian mixed doubles pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja finally returned to action at the BWF World Tour Super 750 Singapore Open 2026 after a lengthy absence due to a left knee injury suffered by Rehan in August 2025.
Rehan/Gloria's return to the event, which will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from May 26-31, is an important momentum to rebuild their performance and confidence at the world elite level.
"First of all, thank God I'm back here, making my comeback in international competition. It hasn't been easy for me, so I'm trying to enjoy the first match," Rehan said in an official statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association.
Gloria is grateful to see her partner's recovery progressing faster than expected. She said the opportunity to compete again in the BWF Super 750 tournament was the first step in finding their best rhythm again.
"We're definitely happy to see Rehan making such good progress and recovering quickly. We want to come back and perform well on the field. The result is secondary, but at least we want to perform better than before," said Gloria.
Gloria also emphasized that she still has great motivation with Rehan to complete the target that was delayed due to injury.
"I felt like there was an unfinished business with Rehan, so I told him, 'Let's finish this properly,'" he said.
