WhatsApp, the instant messaging app owned by Meta, has reportedly officially discontinued the avatar feature for both Android and iOS users.
This change will be rolled out gradually, so more users will lose access to the feature over time. Users can check for these changes by going to the avatar section in the app settings.
As reported the avatar feature was first introduced to WhatsApp in 2022. Avatars are animated characters that users can customize directly and add to chats via stickers or display as user profile photos.
Users can choose background colors, movement animations, facial features, hairstyles, and even clothing to represent themselves through the animation.
