A child and a woman were killed, and the occupation army expanded its control in the central Gaza Strip

A Palestinian child died early Saturday morning from injuries sustained in a previous Israeli bombing in southern Gaza, and a woman was also killed, while the Israeli army expanded its areas of control and deployment east of the Maghazi camp and Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip.

This comes as part of Israel’s daily violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect in the Gaza Strip since October 10, 2025.

A medical source at Nasser Hospital said that the child, Walid Youssef Abu Jazar (10 years old), died as a result of injuries he sustained from an Israeli bombing days ago on the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis city, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Medical sources reported that Palestinian Islam Hassan Abu Shamala was killed, and seven others were injured, including one seriously, in a bombing that targeted western Khan Younis.

Eyewitnesses said an Israeli march targeted two adjacent tents on Al-Rashid Street, near the entrance to Roni Street in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis.

Meanwhile, local sources and eyewitnesses reported a limited incursion by Israeli army vehicles east of the Maghazi camp and Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip, and the removal of yellow concrete blocks westward in a new expansion of its areas of control.

The sources said that two Israeli tanks and a military bulldozer advanced westward for about 200 meters southeast of Maghazi and east of Deir al-Balah, amid heavy gunfire, and removed the concrete blocks that symbolize the “yellow line,” which was stipulated in the ceasefire agreement.

The Israeli army is stationed along what is known as the “Yellow Line,” a security strip imposed by Israel inside the Gaza Strip, preventing Palestinians from accessing areas near it, which includes more than 70 percent of the Strip’s area.

On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that the army now controls about 70 percent of the Gaza Strip, confirming that it will continue to expand the area it occupies within the Strip, despite the ceasefire agreement.

Netanyahu's statements mean that the Israeli army now occupies about 255 square kilometers of Gaza's total area of 365 square kilometers.

According to Netanyahu’s admissions, Israel has expanded its control within Gaza from 53 percent of its area when the ceasefire agreement came into effect, to 60 percent on May 15, and then to 70 percent currently.

On Friday, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem condemned, in a statement, the continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement, including the expansion of what is known as the “yellow line” into new areas of the Gaza Strip, and the accompanying displacement and destruction of homes.

He said: “These violations require a clear stance from the mediators to pressure the occupation (to stop them).”
