Al-Qassam Brigades: The assassination of our leaders will not weaken the resistance, and the reckoning will remain open until the occupation pays it

In a televised address, Abu Ubaida called on mediators to take a "historic stance" towards the Gaza Strip, and to work to compel Israel to implement its obligations under the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025.

The agreement was reached two years after an Israeli genocide in Gaza that began on October 8, 2023, with American support, and continued in various forms thereafter, leaving more than 73,000 martyrs and more than 173,000 wounded Palestinians, and widespread destruction affecting 90% of the infrastructure.

This is the fourth televised address by the new spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, since his first appearance on December 29, 2025, following the assassination of the previous spokesman, Hudhaifa al-Kahlout.

Abu Ubaida said: “It has become clear to every discerning person that we are facing an enemy who does not know the norms of war and does not recognize the sanctity of agreements. He has misread the situation again, misinterpreting flexibility as weakness and caution as retreat.”

He added: “We will not forget and we will not forgive, and the bill will remain open until the occupation pays it in full, God willing,” considering that “the assassination of leaders will not weaken the resistance.”

He continued: “Their blood is the fuel that propels our ship through difficulties, and proof of the sincerity of our call and our unity with our people,” recalling the Qassam leaders who were recently assassinated by the occupation army, foremost among them Izz al-Din al-Haddad and Muhammad Awda.

He said that Haddad "was one of the most prominent leaders who oversaw the defensive operations in northern Gaza, and he had a central role in planning and preparing for the crossing of October 7 (2023)."

Mohammed Awda was also described as "one of the first nuclei of military manufacturing in the Qassam Brigades," noting that he took command of the "Military Intelligence Branch" and had "a key role in planning and supervising the crossing of October 7."

On October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked military bases and settlements along the Gaza border, killing and capturing Israelis, in response to "the daily crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and their holy sites, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque," according to the movement.

Abu Ubaida added: “We still have leaders who have drawn from the wellspring of the Qur’an and Sunnah, who were raised by their martyred leaders, who grew up in the fields of defense and preparation, and who were refined by experiences and wars.”

He continued, addressing Israel: "Rejoice in what will displease you, for you have accomplished nothing, and you will not find any change to this course."

Speaking about the ongoing war on Gaza, Abu Ubaida said that "the crimes of assassination and daily killing of children, women and the elderly, and the reneging on the ceasefire agreement, put the mediators and guarantors before a moment of truth."

He continued: “When we address mediators outside the United States, we are addressing our people and the sons of our nation, and we tell them: Do not equate the victim with the executioner, stand withyour brothers in Gaza,” calling for “unifying efforts to restrain the occupation and force it to implement its obligations, instead of demanding more concessions from the Palestinian people.”

Abu Ubaida also addressed a message to the Arab and Islamic peoples, saying: “The duty of the hour today is to actively engage in the battle of right and wrong, as silence or neutrality is no longer acceptable,” adding that “the nation that stood united in Arafat is capable of uniting to support Gaza and its oppressed people.”

In closing, he addressed the residents of the Gaza Strip, saying: "We have followed your words, your chants, and your marches in bidding farewell to the martyred leaders, and it is forbidden for us to betray this blood, this determination, and these sacrifices."

Israel assassinated Awda and Haddad recently, as part of ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement. The Government Media Office in Gaza stated that Israel committed 3,096 violations of the ceasefire agreement since it came into effect in October 2025, resulting in the martyrdom of 939 Palestinians and the injury of 2,889.

This comes amid stalled talks on moving to the second phase of the agreement that began on October 10, 2025, and Israel's recent escalation of its field violations and breaches of the agreement.
