Belawan Immigration deports Malaysian citizens without official documents

The Class II TPI Belawan Immigration Office, North Sumatra, deported a Malaysian citizen with the initials MM because he was proven to have entered Indonesian territory illegally without official documents and ignored the immigration checkpoint.

"This step is in line with the spirit of Immigration for the People, which prioritizes national security and public services," said Eko Yudis Parlin Rajagukguk, Head of the Class II TPI Belawan Immigration Office, in Medan, Tuesday.

Eko explained that the deportation of the Malaysian citizen was part of immigration law enforcement against foreigners who entered Indonesian territory illegally. This action was in accordance with the provisions of Article 113 and Article 119 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

The deportation process was carried out via a Medan–Kuala Lumpur flight from Kualanamu International Airport.

In addition to being deported, the Malaysian citizen was also placed on a travel ban list via an online travel ban system.

"Therefore, the person concerned cannot re-enter Indonesian territory within the time period in accordance with applicable regulations," said Eko.

This firm action is part of the Directorate General of Immigration's commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and ensuring that all foreign citizens in Indonesia comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Eko added that his party continues to strengthen supervision of foreigners and enforce immigration laws in a professional, humane, and accountable manner.
