Former presidential candidate Tchiroma Bakary has filed two complaints against President Paul Biya.
The former minister, currently in exile in Gambia, announced on Friday that he had filed two complaints with the Paris judicial court.
Invoking the principle of universal jurisdiction, he denounces the repression of demonstrations against the presidential election of October 12, 2025.
The opposition leader claims that several thousand people are still being held in various prisons in Cameroon under conditions he describes as "illegal" and contrary to fundamental rights.
The complaints target the Cameroonian president, as well as some twenty high-ranking officials. Tchiroma Bakary states that he has filed a complaint with this international court due to numerous and persistent obstructions in Cameroon.
