Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Akhmad Wiyagus emphasized that improving the quality of public health services is an important priority in national development, particularly in human resource development.
"Human resource development is one of the focuses of President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita including through improving health services for the public," Wiyagus said in a statement.
Wiyagus conveyed this as a form of appreciation for the Papua Provincial Government which continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the quality of human resources through the provision of free health services, mass medical treatment, and blood donation for the people of Jayapura.
This activity also serves as concrete evidence of the state's presence in ensuring broader, more equitable, and higher-quality access to health services for all levels of society.
According to Wiyagus, accessible and high-quality healthcare will be the main foundation in creating superior, productive human resources who are able to compete in various sectors.
"This mass medical treatment provides access to healthcare for the community and serves as a means of early detection of various diseases," he said.
Through various health services that directly reach the community, the government is striving to reduce the gap in access to health while increasing public awareness of the importance of maintaining health.
On the same occasion, Assistant III of the Papua Provincial Secretariat, Suzana Wanggai, revealed that blood donation has great humanitarian value because it can help save other people's lives.
"We appreciate the community who participated in blood donation. A drop of donated blood can help and save others," he said.
In addition to providing direct benefits to the community, this activity also strengthens the synergy between the central and regional governments in providing responsive and sustainable public services.
