Despite finishing in tenth place, Marini was satisfied with his performance

Despite finishing tenth in the main Dutch MotoGP race, HRC Honda racer Luca Marini said he was satisfied with his performance.

In the main race which took place at the Assen Circuit, Marini, who started the race from the third grid, had quite a bit of difficulty in getting into the front position after losing some momentum to make maneuvers.

"We've gained more information about what we need to continue improving, which is always positive. I think the results we achieved are our best yet," said Luca Marini, as quoted on the HRC Honda website.

Marini finished with a gap of +20.302 seconds from the Dutch MotoGP champion, Trackhouse racer Ai Ogura who recorded a time of 40 minutes 21.905 seconds.

The Italian racer said he had difficulty entering the fifth corner because there was contact with several other racers.

"I felt like I had better pace than the guys in front of me, but I was stuck there behind them," said the number ten rider.

In addition, Marini also said that he had difficulty managing the rear tire, so he needed to maintain a distance to maneuver Yamaha racer Alex Rins who was right in front of him.

With an additional six points, Marini is still stuck in 11th place in the standings with a collection of 71 points.
