Eliminated in the first round of the 2026 Indonesia Open, Indonesian men's doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin admitted to playing too hastily.
In the first round which took place at Istora Senayan, Leo/Daniel were defeated by Taiwanese representatives Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan in a rubber game 16-21, 21-13, 19-21.
"We probably played in a rush throughout the game, and even when we were ahead, we had to keep attacking, but they changed the tempo. We actually tried not to engage them, but they just couldn't give up," Leo said in the post-match press conference.
In line with Leo, Daniel admitted that their game today was very rushed.
"So maybe we'll correct our mistakes and hopefully we can deliver a better result in the next match," Daniel said.
This defeat was a heavy blow for Leo/Daniel, who also failed in the first round at the 2026 Malaysia Masters.
This pair, who were reunited, had previously achieved positive results by winning the 2026 Thailand Open.
