PBVSI awaits KOI policy regarding participation in the 2026 Asian Games

The Central Board of the All-Indonesia Volleyball Association  is still awaiting the policy of the Indonesian Olympic Committee  regarding the participation of the men's and women's national volleyball teams in the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan in September.

Imam Sudjarwo, Chairman of the Indonesian Volleyball Association , stated that the governing body for the sport has prepared initial steps by submitting a long list of players for the formation of a national team. However, the final decision regarding the team's deployment is still pending direction from the Indonesian National Sports Committee  due to various considerations, including budgetary constraints.

"We realize there are budget limitations, so this is a matter of efficiency or something. What's certain is that we need certainty. Even so, we've already sent a long list of players for both the men's and women's national teams," he said at the General Police Kunarto Volleyball Padepokan in Sentul, West Java.

Imam explained that PBVSI would not face any significant obstacles if the national volleyball team was ultimately sent to the 2026 Asian Games.

This is because the players projected to be in the national team already have a competition agenda and ongoing development program in place ahead of the largest multi-sport championship in Asia.
