Indonesian junior equestrian Brandon Toa is using his victory in the AEF/Mantena Cup CSI1* 115cm as valuable capital ahead of his appearance at the Prime Minister Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, July.
Brandon won the Mantena Cup on the second day of the competition at Equinara Horse Sports, JIEPP Pulomas area, Jakarta, last weekend, after bouncing back from a less than optimal result on the first day.
"This match is also part of my preparation for the Prime Minister's Cup, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 24-26, 2026," Brandon said in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday.
The athlete, who rode Lightning, finished seventh on the first day. However, she improved her performance and emerged victorious on the second day.
The AEF/Mantena Cup CSI1* 115cm is an Asian-level equestrian jumping competition that will take place on June 26-28, 2026. The event will be attended by 18 athletes from 13 countries, including Indonesia.
Brandon said the pressure of performing in front of his own audience affected his performance on the first day. Furthermore, technical factors prevented his accuracy during the jumps.
However, the 10th-grade athlete from Cinta Budaya School managed to perform more calmly on the second day. He passed the first round with a clear result, along with four other competitors.
