Legendary Cristiano Ronaldo broke his silence regarding the recent controversy surrounding the Portuguese national team, delivering a firm message through his social media accounts.

The Portuguese national team had drawn their opening match against the Democratic Republic of Congo with a score of (1-1) in a match that witnessed a lackluster performance from Ronaldo, who appeared far from his usual level and was unable to score any goals, which opened the door to questions about his influence within the team at this stage.

In parallel, speculation has intensified regarding the strained relationship between Ronaldo and a number of his teammates, most notably Bruno Fernandes and Joao Neves, amid talk of disagreements within the dressing room among the national team members.

Joao Neves intensified the controversy after comments that some interpreted as belittling Ronaldo's status when he indicated that the veteran star's role was no longer as pivotal as it once was, which sparked a wave of widespread criticism against the young player.

But Ronaldo posted a picture on his Instagram story with the caption: "Just focus on what you can control," in a message that followers considered a direct response to the criticism he had faced in recent days

Ronaldo also demonstrated the spirit of brotherhood and cohesion within the Portuguese national team after posting a picture of himself with his teammates, accompanied by the short phrase: "Always united," indicating the group's cohesion and readiness to continue their journey in the tournament.

Despite Ronaldo's advanced age of 41, he remains the player under the most pressure in the Portuguese national team.

Ronaldo has always been accustomed to being at the forefront and facing criticism, especially since he has been the star of the Portuguese squad for years.
