The Indonesian junior badminton team secured their place in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Asian Junior Championships after sweeping to a 2-0 victory over Macau in their second Group D match at the Yatsushiro City General Gymnasium.
After starting the tournament by beating South Korea 2-0 the day before, Indonesia again appeared dominant by winning the first set 55-16 and closing the second set with a landslide score of 55-15, according to BWF records.
This result ensures that the Red and White team has secured two consecutive wins in the group stage and secured a ticket to the quarter-finals.
Indonesia immediately dominated the match from the start of the first set. The women's doubles pair, Adelia Nirul Muthmainnah and Yasintha Rahma Putri, opened an 11-3 lead after defeating Ho Hei U and Rozan Vera.
Indonesia's lead was then extended by Radithya Bintang Wardhana who overcame Ng Chan Hei to change the score to 22-6.
Jolin Angelia continued the Red and White's dominance after defeating Ian Chi Cheng, giving Indonesia a 33-10 lead.
In the men's doubles sector, Muhammad Rizki Mubarrok/Raihan Daffa Edsel Pramono led Indonesia to a 44-13 victory over Lei Lok Him/Luo Yuk Tong.
Raihan Daffa Edsel Pramono, who returned to play in the mixed doubles with Atresia Naufa Candani, secured victory in the first set with a score of 55-16 after defeating Ou Ka Hou/Chan Hao Wai.
