Israel bombs beachgoers in Khan Younis, killing two; Gaza death toll rises to over 1,000 since October 2025

The Israeli army killed two Palestinians and wounded six others on Wednesday in a drone strike that targeted beachgoers in the southern Gaza Strip.

This comes as part of the Israeli army’s continued violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025.

Medical sources reported that the bodies of two martyrs and six wounded people arrived at Nasser Hospital as a result of an Israeli drone targeting a group of vacationers on Al-Mawasi beach in Khan Yunis.

Eyewitnesses said the march shelled a group of civilians inside a beach resort, killing two Palestinians and injuring others.

They added that the area was crowded with vacationers and displaced people who were heading to the beach, as it was the only escape in light of the high temperatures and deteriorating living conditions inside the displacement camps.

In the same context, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the sector’s hospitals received two martyrs and five wounded people during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of victims of violations since October 10, 2025 to 1,005 martyrs and 3,157 wounded, without clarifying the circumstances of all the cases.

The ministry added that it had included 6 martyrs who succumbed to their wounds in the cumulative toll after completing their data, noting the continuation of violations through shelling and gunfire in various areas of the sector.

She also explained that the total number of victims of the war since October 7, 2023 has risen to 73,016 martyrs and 173,265 wounded, amid worsening humanitarian conditions and continued widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure.
