Young Indonesian golfer Jennifer Quinn Effendi maintained her top position in the women's division standings of the 2026 Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship (MCGJWC), while Parin Sarasmut led the men's division on the second day of the tournament at Damai Indah Golf, Jakarta.
In a written statement from the Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation (CFG) received in Jakarta on Thursday, the 13-year-old golfer topped the leaderboard with 137 strokes, or 7-under. Quinn shot a 71, or 1-under. His performance improved after leading the first day with a 66, or 6-under.
Quinn's position to secure the title is not easy because two Thai golfers, Kanyarak Pongpithanon and Marisa Tojai, are looming in second and third place.
Kanyarak shot 138, or 6-under, while Marisa trailed by one stroke. This ensured an even more tense battle for the title in the final round.
"I will try to maximize my short game and long game while also preparing my physical condition," said Quinn.
Meanwhile, Thailand's top golfer, Parin Sarasmut, shot to the top of the men's division standings after carding a 65, or 7-under.
The gold and bronze medalist at the 2025 SEA Games scored an eagle and five birdies to lead the way with a total of 133 strokes, or 11 under. Parin overtook compatriot Warut Boonrod, who had held the top spot on the first day.
Warut dropped to second place with 138 strokes or 6-under. Today he played par 72. Korean golfer, Jaehyun Park, followed in next place with 139 strokes or 5-under.
