Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi reiterated his commitment to strengthening national transportation safety and connectivity through the 2027 priority program, supported by a proposed additional budget to improve public services and equitable development.
Dudy stated that the Ministry of Transportation's 2027 program and budget are geared toward improving transportation safety, strengthening public services, maintaining national connectivity, and supporting economic growth and equitable development in line with national priorities.
"All the programs and activities we have planned for next year are aimed at improving transportation safety, maintaining national connectivity, and strengthening public services," the Minister of Transportation said in a statement.
Dudy said the Ministry of Transportation had submitted the 2027 Work and Budget Plan (RKA) and the 2027 Government Work Plan (RKP) to Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives, which then approved the Ministry of Transportation's indicative budget ceiling of IDR 28.34 trillion.
As a result, there is a gap of Rp17.87 trillion, or 38.67 percent. Compared to the 2027 Budget Ceiling of Rp55.16 trillion, there is a gap of Rp26.82 trillion, or 48.62 percent.
He said this situation indicates that there are still a number of priority programs, particularly in the areas of safety, basic services, and regional connectivity, that require additional budget support.
"This is very important so that the transportation development targets in the country can be achieved optimally," he said.
