The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Women's Series 2026 in Orleans, France, on June 19-20, will feature fierce competition from 16 teams from various countries seeking to achieve success and gain ranking points.
The FIBA 3x3 website reported Monday that Azerbaijan's Neftchi SOCAR are the top seeds, having performed consistently throughout the season and established themselves as one of the elite teams in the 2026 Women's Series.
The competition is expected to be fierce because the second seeded team Amsterdam from the Netherlands and the third seeded team Spain are also present with their best strength.
These two teams have been major contenders in various international 3x3 basketball competitions over the past few seasons.
The fourth seed went to Beijing from China, who also came into the spotlight after showing impressive performances in a number of previous series.
Meanwhile, Chile and Italy, the fifth and sixth seeds, are considered to have enough quality and experience to compete for a podium spot.
Hosts France will rely on Paris Region IDF and France U25, who are seeded seventh and 16th respectively.
The presence of these two teams is expected to attract local public support, while also providing a challenge for the top contenders.
Uganda, seeded eighth, is also determined to continue its positive development on the international stage.
In addition, Mitsubishi Electric from Japan, Ireland, Kenya, Hungary, Prague from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Puerto Rico are ready to create surprises.
The main draw will be divided into four groups, namely A, B, C, and D, each consisting of three teams.
Before the main draw , six teams must go through a qualifying round (qualification draw) which is divided into groups A and B first.
The two best teams in each qualifying group will join groups C and D in the main round.
