Pelita Jaya captain Andakara Prastawa Dhyaksa emphasized that his team's local players are ready to face the challenge from three foreign players from the Bogor Hornbills in the first match of the 2026 IBL final at GMSB6.
He stated that the team had perfected its preparations for the final with a best-of-five series , so that all possible challenges had been anticipated, including the movements of the three opposing foreign players, namely Stephaun Branch, Travin Thibodeaux, and Kaleb Wesson.
"We'll focus on one match at a time, so we'll tackle the closest ones first, then the next ones. Of course, we want to get the best results in this series," said the player, often called Prastawa, when interviewed after training at GMSB.
He acknowledged that the Hornbills have strengths worth watching out for, especially in the foreign players who have been the driving force of the game throughout the season.
However, he emphasized that Pelita Jaya would not rely solely on one or two players to quell the threat.
Prastawa explained that the coaching team had prepared various scenarios to anticipate the Hornbills' game.
Preparations made over the past week have also focused on adjusting strategies to address potential changes in the opponent's playing style compared to the regular season.
