The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission warned of the danger of what media reports revealed about a settlement plan presented by well-known forums that aims to control about 100 strategic points within the areas classified as (A).
The Authority stressed that the settlement plans submitted represent a qualitative development in the course of the Israeli colonial project aimed at undermining Palestinian geography and emptying international agreements of their content.
The head of the commission, Minister Mu’ayyad Sha’ban, said that this plan, which is led by settlement groups linked to the “Union of Settlement Farms” and other settlement forums, cannot be read as a separate move issued by marginal groups, but rather comes in the context of the profound transformations that the occupying state has witnessed in recent years, especially under the current Israeli government that came to power under the title of “decisiveness,” and carries a declared agenda based on consolidating Israeli control over the occupied Palestinian land and imposing the realities of de facto annexation.
Shaaban added that this government has crossed numerous red lines and no longer conceals its intention to target the foundations of the Palestinian national entity by fragmenting Palestinian territory, separating cities, villages, and communities from one another, and transforming Palestinian areas into isolated enclaves lacking geographical and political contiguity. He stated that talk of storming areas under Palestinian civil and security control, according to internationally recognized agreements, constitutes a direct attack on existing arrangements and an attempt to impose a new reality that negates the borders upon which those agreements were based.
