The West Papua Regional Police (Polda) are finalizing the security scenario for the 14th National Church Choir Festival (Pesparawi) in Manokwari on June 18–28, 2026 through a personnel readiness roll call and a "tactical floor game (TFG)".
West Papua Police Chief Inspector General Alfred Papare in Manokwari, Monday, said that the 14th National Pesparawi is a national agenda that brings together participants, committee members, officials, and invited guests from all provinces, thus requiring planned and integrated security.
Tactical Floor Game is a tactical simulation method that uses maps or miniatures laid out on the floor to visualize an operational plan in the field. This method is commonly used by military agencies (such as the Indonesian National Armed Forces) and police forces to refine strategies.
"All personnel must carry out their duties professionally and responsibly, prioritizing humane service to the community and activity participants," Alfred said.
He explained that the readiness of personnel, supporting facilities and infrastructure, and integrated security patterns are important factors in anticipating various potential disruptions during the implementation of national religious activities.
According to him, all personnel involved must understand their respective main duties and functions and be responsible for the security situation in their assigned areas so that the XIV National Pesparawi can run smoothly.
"This TFG is part of the strengthening of the security operations plan for the 14th National Pesparawi in Manokwari. A total of 811 personnel have been deployed," said Alfred.
Through the simulation, he said, all security elements will have the same perception regarding action patterns, division of tasks, and anticipatory steps against various potential vulnerabilities that may arise during the activity.
He stated that a number of security scenarios have been prepared, starting from securing the arrival of participants and VIP and VVIP guests, securing the activity location, regulating traffic flow, securing accommodation, to mechanisms for handling contingency situations.
"The Indonesian National Police (Polri) is committed to supporting the implementation of the National Paralympic Games (Pesparawi) by providing maximum security at all activity locations, contingent accommodations, and other locations," said Alfred.
Acting Head of Public Relations for the West Papua Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Gadug Kurniawan, stated that the TFG is crucial for ensuring personnel readiness, supporting facilities, and implementing security strategies during the 14th National Pesparawi.
According to him, the 14th National Pesparawi is not only a forum for fostering arts, culture and religion, but also a momentum to strengthen unity and togetherness among people from various provinces in Indonesia.
"The success of securing national activities is largely determined by the readiness of personnel, inter-agency coordination, and the ability of all elements to work in an integrated manner," he said.
