Peron did not stop there, but made statements described as shocking and offensive when she added: "Excuse me, but childbirth is a difficult moment, and the father has no use or role in it; he is merely an extra or plays a marginal role of no value."
She also said: "You will waste 10 hours of your time, you will become exhausted, and you will experience a strong emotional shock that will completely take you out of the atmosphere of the World Cup and your focus on the tournament."
The program witnessed a heated verbal exchange between the presenter and former boxing champion Ibrahim Asloum, who interrupted her, asking: "How can you claim that we are of no use? Who will provide support and encouragement to the mother at that moment?"
