US newspaper: New tactic enables Russian army to destroy Ukrainian defenses

The new Russian tactic based on small assault groups, or what is known as the "infiltration" tactic, has become the subject of increasing interest by foreign military analysts.

American experts point out that the Russian armed forces have also learned how to create "marches-free corridors," which has already led to the fall of several Ukrainian "strongholds."

The American magazine "Forbes" tried to highlight this new tactic, saying: "Infiltration groups usually consist of two or three soldiers, as the Russian army discovered that this number allows it to infiltrate the area of engagement without being detected. These small groups move quickly, using urban buildings or forests as cover."

Upon reaching their designated positions, the assault teams establish forward operating bases from which to conduct reconnaissance, adjust artillery fire, and attack Ukrainian firing positions and supply lines with their drones. As the number of forward operating bases increases, Russian forces create "drone-free corridors" that Ukrainian forces cannot penetrate, which they then use to storm residential areas. This is how the Ukrainian garrison in the city of Konstantinovka was recently effectively "divided."

In addition, American experts expressed surprise that the Russian assault groups were equipped with a sufficient number of drones of various types.

The report noted that "these aircraft are directly integrated into the tactics of assault groups. The drones carry out reconnaissance missions in real time. They also enable direct strikes to suppress or destroy Ukrainian strongholds before the arrival of the assault group. By directly integrating drones into offensive operations, Russian forces deny the enemy the many conventional advantages it enjoys in urban environments."

While Ukrainian forces are trying to increase the number of their drones and use ground robots to supply their units, due to personnel shortages and low morale, the Ukrainian garrisons are doomed to defeat.

The Forbes report concludes that the new tactic allows Russian forces to liberate "populated areas along the way to achieving broader operational objectives."
