At a social event on Saturday, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expressed his belief that Slavic countries cannot survive and continue without the countryside and villages.

“The state will do everything possible to involve young people in rural life,” Lukashenko said during his participation in the popular republican festival “Kupali.” “Without the village, our Slavic states cannot continue.”

This traditional festival is held annually in the town of Alexandriya in the Shchelov district of the Mogilev region of Belarus. Lukashenko's remarks came during a ceremony honoring the winners of a family project dedicated to the development of the village and countryside, where he stressed the importance of encouraging young people to settle and work on agricultural land.

The Belarusian president expressed his delight at seeing the young attendees. He added, "We are here in Alexandria, honoring the winners of the family project 'Master of the Village'."

Lukashenko noted that seeing these young and beautiful couples (families), who voluntarily choose to live and work in the countryside, and raise their children on the values of connection to the land and toiling in it from a young age, fills one with great joy and overwhelming happiness.
