| Israeli army targeted Hamas weapons manufacturing site in Gaza City |
The Israeli army announced in a statement Sunday evening that it had launched an airstrike on a Hamas weapons manufacturing site in the Gaza City area in the northern Gaza Strip and destroyed it.
The army added in a statement that, in flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement, Hamas militants launched an attack from a weapons manufacturing site to produce weapons components in an attempt to rebuild their military capabilities.
He stated that the site was bombed while a number of Hamas militants were active inside, preparing to advance and carry out attacks against Israeli forces and Israeli civilians.
The military noted that prior to the raid, measures were taken to minimize potential harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
The statement emphasized that Israeli army forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue their operations to remove any direct threat.
