| Houthis announce a military operation |
The military spokesman for the Houthi movement “Ansar Allah” in Yemen announced that the Yemeni armed forces had carried out a military operation targeting Abha International Airport with a number of ballistic missiles and drones.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree explained in a statement: “In its insistence on continuing its unjust siege on the Yemeni people, at 1:54 PM today, Monday, the Saudi enemy launched a blatant aggression through its warplanes against Sana’a International Airport, targeting it with a number of raids with the aim of closing it to humanitarian flights that transport the sick and stranded to and from Sana’a International Airport. The armed forces engaged with the aggression aircraft to confront this treacherous and cowardly attack.”
The statement added: “In response to this criminal Saudi aggression, the Yemeni armed forces carried out a military operation targeting Abha International Airport with a number of ballistic missiles and drones, and the operation successfully achieved its objectives thanks to God.”
The Houthis held "Saudi Arabia fully responsible for the dire consequences of the attack, which serves the Zionist-American enemy, and all its repercussions."
Brigadier General Yahya Saree affirmed that "the Yemeni armed forces are determined to take the right stance in repelling the aggression and lifting the unjust blockade," warning "all airlines against crossing Saudi airspace and they must take the warnings seriously until the blockade on Sana'a International Airport is lifted."
The Houthis expressed their "gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its assistance to the Republic of Yemen in lifting the unjust blockade on Sana'a International Airport and for operating humanitarian flights to and from Sana'a Airport."
