The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mohammad Baqer Zolghadr, responded to threats from US President Donald Trump regarding reaching an agreement between the two countries.

Zulqadar said: “Before, you, as the president of a country without roots, with a history that extends for 250 years, spoke in similar terms about erasing the civilization of Iran that extends for several thousand years, and the result for you was nothing but defeat, helplessness, and a request for negotiation and a ceasefire! The Iranian is a stranger to the language of threats.”

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council added: "So, speak to the Iranian people with respect, otherwise we will respond to you in another language."

Trump had stated earlier in the day: "We are doing a very good job on Iran, and they very much want to reach an agreement, and we will see what happens," adding: "We will win in Iran the nice way or the other way."

Trump reiterated, "We have destroyed Iran's navy, its air force, and its leaders, and they are not in good shape at all," adding, "Iran must make the right deal with us and cannot get a nuclear weapon."
