The Spanish newspaper "Sport" highlighted that Barcelona's coach, Hansi Flick, took 17 young players to the pre-season training camp in England in preparation for the new season.

Barcelona have headed to England to begin their pre-season training camp for the upcoming 2026-2027 season, which will last until August 3.

Barcelona will play two friendly matches in England against Birmingham City and Preston North End, on Friday and Monday.

Barcelona's squad called up for the training camp in England included 17 players from the youth team, as many of the key players were absent because they were still enjoying their summer vacation after participating in the World Cup.

Among those youngsters is Egyptian Hamza Abdel Karim , who made his debut with Hansi Flick's squad last Friday during the Europa League match, where Barcelona won 4-1.

The Spanish newspaper "Sport" said about Hamza Abdel Karim: "A top-class striker, who enjoys great confidence from Barcelona, is 18 years old and participated in the World Cup with the Egyptian national team recently."

She added: "Hamza Abdel Karim joined Barcelona from Al Ahly and informed his counterpart of his desire to activate the purchase clause a few weeks ago. He is a pivotal player in the penalty area and is the type of player that La Masia often lacks."

The youth list also included, in addition to Hamza Abdel Karim: Iker Rodriguez, Yako, Xavi Espart, Alvaro Cortes, Jeffrey Torrentes, Jordi Pesquier, Tommy Marquez, Bryan Farinas, Ibrahim Diarra, Orian Gorin, Gilly Fernandez, Toncarra, Oscar Gesto, Alex Gonzalez, Shane Kluivert and Toni Fernandez.
