Al Ahly SC of Egypt announced on Tuesday a new signing to strengthen the ranks of the first football team for the upcoming 2026-2027 football season.
Al Ahly announces its fourth summer signing for $3 million
Al-Ahly revealed on its official website that it has signed Algerian player Mounsef Bekar from Dinamo Zagreb, to wear the Red Devils' jersey for 3 seasons.
Dr. Essam Serag El-Din, head of the contracts sector, went to Croatia and completed all the financial and administrative procedures related to the deal for Monsef, in coordination with Captain Wael Gomaa, the football director.
Algerian Moncef Bekar shone with Dinamo Zagreb last season, scoring 18 goals and providing 5 assists in 42 matches across all competitions.
Mounsef joined Al Ahly by decision after the club’s management reached an agreement with Dinamo Zagreb to pay a fee of $3 million.
Al-Ahly had already signed three players before the decision: Sofiane Ben Jedida, Ali Mahmoud, and Abdullah Aktay.
He began his career at the Algerian club ES Setif's academy and played with the first team before moving to Croatian side Istra in 2022. He then moved to New York City FC a year later, before joining Dinamo Zagreb in August 2025.
