Former Liverpool manager Arne Slot is reportedly a strong candidate to replace Ronald Koeman as the Dutch national team coach.
According to a Sky Sports report on Monday, Slot is in talks with the Dutch Football Federation to become the new coach of De Oranje.
Ronald Koeman resigned after failing to live up to expectations at the 2026 World Cup. The Netherlands were eliminated in the round of 32 after losing on penalties to Morocco.
The report states that preliminary talks between the KNVB and Slot have taken place. However, the federation is still considering several other names before making a final choice.
In addition to Slot, Italian transfer journalist Nicolo Schira previously reported that Erik ten Hag was also on the radar for the Dutch national team coach. Ten Hag currently serves as FC Twente's technical director.
