The Secretary General of the Indonesian Boxing Association , Hengky Silatang, hopes that the 2026 U19 and U23 Asian Boxing Championship will produce potential Indonesian boxers.
"This championship is expected to bring out potential Indonesian boxers," said Hengky while speaking at a press conference .
He added that PERBATI is very enthusiastic about welcoming the 2026 Asian Boxing Championship U19 and U23 because this is the first time Indonesia has hosted an event of this level.
Hengky explained that Indonesia had previously held boxing championships, but in multi-sport events such as the Asian Games and the SEA Games.
"We are very enthusiastic about welcoming neighboring countries, because it has been a long time since we held a championship like this," said Hengky.
