The incident was first reported by ESPN. According to the report, Adebayo punched Herro during a confrontation that took place in a Las Vegas hotel gym .
Sources in the report said the dispute began when Adebayo approached Herro to discuss some comments the guard had made on social media.
The comments were said to be criticism of Adebayo after their seven-season stint with the Miami Heat ended.
Both players have been recognized as key members of the Heat's core roster in recent years. Herro joined Miami in 2019, while Adebayo has been with the team since 2017.
Tensions between the two escalated after posts and conversations emerged criticizing Adebayo's performance and contract value.
When Adebayo asked the guard directly for an explanation , the situation turned into a physical confrontation.
