Bezzecchi's weekend ended quickly at the Sachsenring

Marco Bezzecchi's weekend at the German MotoGP ended prematurely after the Aprilia Racing rider suffered a broken left collarbone in a crash during the Q2 qualifying session at the Sachsenring Circuit, Saxony, Germany, on Saturday.

Bezzecchi was thrown hard from his bike at Turn 7 and slid at high speed into the gravel. Although he was able to stand and walk after receiving first aid, the rider with the number 72 was then taken to the Medical Center for further examination.

According to the official MotoGP website, X-rays showed Bezzecchi had suffered a fractured left collarbone. The injury required the Italian rider to return to his home country for surgery.
