The British Embassy in Tel Aviv, in cooperation with the British Department for Business and Trade, organized an exhibition of products from British gin producers, with the aim of expanding trade ties with the Israeli market.
The event, titled "Distilling Excellence: The British Gin Showcase," brought together a number of Israeli distributors, retailers, hospitality professionals, and representatives from the food and beverage industry, as part of Britain's efforts to strengthen its presence in the Israeli market, which it considers a promising market for its premium products, especially in the spirits sector.
According to figures published by the embassy, more than 75% of the gin imported into Israel comes from British distilleries.
British gin exports to Israel, in containers of up to two liters, amounted to about £3.99 million (about 16 million shekels) during 2024, while the total value of the Israeli gin market is estimated at about £9.73 million annually.
"Israel is an important market for British gin, with increasing demand for luxury brands and premium products," said British Ambassador to Israel Simon Walters during the event.
He added: "We are delighted to showcase a selection of outstanding British gins, bringing together British producers with Israeli distributors, retailers and hospitality professionals. We hope this event will launch new partnerships and create more opportunities for trade between our two countries."
