Indonesian national boxing team coach Husni Ray believes his players' achievements at the 2026 Asian U19 and U23 Boxing Championships have so far exceeded expectations.
"It was actually beyond our expectations that they could reach the semifinals, a truly extraordinary achievement," Husni said.
Three Indonesian boxers, namely Linda Sarui Langi Maililin, Maria Mesita Manguntu, and M. Riko Prayogi, managed to reach the semifinals in the U23 category and fought last Sunday.
Even though they were ultimately unable to reach the final after losing to their opponents, Linda, Maria, and Riko were entitled to a bronze medal at the championship.
