Reports have revealed the tentative date for the draw for the preliminary rounds of the African Champions League for the new 2026-2027 season.
Moroccan reports revealed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set August 6 as the tentative date for the draw ceremony for the African Champions League.
The draw will take place in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, at the headquarters of the African Union.
The draw date was set after the club competitions registration system was closed and the final lists of participating teams were approved by the national federations.
It is worth noting that the issue of increasing the number of clubs participating in the African Champions League and the Confederation Cup was the main topic of discussion in CAF during the past period.
The matter was definitively settled after the CAF Competitions Committee rejected the proposal submitted by the Egyptian Football Association regarding amending the competition system starting from the 2026-2027 season, and postponed the idea to the next season.
