Ennis and Rodriguez win WBA world titles

Boxers Jaron Ennis and Jesse Rordriguez received World Boxing Association  awards after the two boxers won world championship titles in the super welterweight (69.9 kg) and bantamweight (53.5 kg) classes, respectively.

On its official website monitored in Jakarta on Thursday, the WBA named Jaron Enis as the Best Boxer of the Month for June after achieving a knockout (KO) victory over Xander Zayas at the Barclays Center, New York, United States.

The American stopped Zayas in the seventh round after dropping him for the third time and forcing the Puerto Rican boxer's team to throw in the towel.

With that victory, the boxer nicknamed "Boots" dominates the WBA super welterweight division with a record of 36 wins, including strengthening his knockout record to 32 times.

The WBA called Ennis' achievement a remarkable performance at the age of 29 that further solidified his position as one of the world's elite boxers and cemented his status as one of boxing's brightest stars.

In addition, the victory was also seen as confirming Ennis' dominance in the super welterweight class, which is now seen as one of the most competitive divisions in modern boxing.
