Fixed telecommunications network providers have declared the formation of the Association of Fixed Telecommunications Network Providers as a collaborative forum to oversee regulations and accelerate the development of national digital infrastructure.
"Without a robust digital network, dreams of equal access to information and digitalization remain mere dreams," said Jartatel Chairman Raymond Hubertus at the association's declaration ceremony.
"So, fixed network business actors are at the forefront of our efforts to make this dream a reality," said Raymond.
He said that his organization was formed to respond to the problem of limited collaboration between telecommunications network providers.
The association was also formed to address challenges in the telecommunications business, including the surge in network relocation costs and the use of shared space, which is considered unfair to all business actors.
Raymond stated that field dynamics show that the high cost of network relocation is currently placing an increasing burden on operators' fiscal space, and this has a direct impact on reducing the efficiency of corporate investment in aggregate.
In addition, he emphasized the need for standardization and transparency in the governance of the use of public spaces and shared infrastructure.
Jartatel was formed to oversee government policies and harmonize technical regulations in the downstream telecommunications sector, particularly in the implementation of fixed telecommunications networks.
"We are all telecommunications companies and hope that this can create synergy between the government's mission and the businesses of our fellow telecommunications companies," he said.
