Global influencer Georgina Rodriguez, partner of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, expressed her full support for the latter after Portugal's exit from the 2026 World Cup on Monday with a 1-0 loss to Spain.
Following Portugal's defeat under Ronaldo's leadership against Spain (1-0) with a goal by Mikel Merino in the last minute of the match, Ronaldo appeared crying on the field before walking off with heavy steps that reflected a feeling of frustration, sadness, and disappointment.
Georgina Rodriguez shared an emotional post on her Instagram story.
The 32-year-old model reposted a post from her fiancé's sponsor, Nike, on her Instagram account hours after the final whistle.
The post featured a touching profile picture of Ronaldo with the caption "His legend lives on forever" alongside the famous Nike logo, Ronaldo's sponsor. Rodriguez, who has around 75 million followers on the social media platform, added a red heart emoji at the top of the post.
The 41-year-old Portuguese star, the only player in history to have scored in six World Cups, left the pitch in tears and deeply saddened.
It is likely that the 2026 World Cup will be the last international tournament in which Ronaldo, who has played more than 240 international matches for his country, will participate.
