Google claims the number of active users of the Gemini app in Southeast Asia has more than doubled in the past year, making the region the region with the fastest Gemini adoption rate compared to other Google apps.
"We see the enthusiasm reflected in the numbers in Southeast Asia, the number of active Gemini users, both on the web and in the app, has more than doubled in the region in the last 12 months. In fact, the growth is record-breaking, surpassing any other Google app we've ever launched in Southeast Asia," said Google's Vice President, Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier, Sapna Chadha.
The company said the growth was driven by a predominantly young, tech-savvy population, with nearly 40 percent of Southeast Asia's population under 25, as well as Gemini's ability to understand local languages.
