In the presence of Prabowo and Modi, the BrahMos procurement contract was announced

 




  The cooperation contract for the procurement of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles between BrahMos Aerospace and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense was announced in the presence of President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi during PM Modi's state visit to the Merdeka Palace.

At the same event, a cooperation agreement regarding the procurement of air-to -air missile weapons between Bharat Dynamics Limited  and Republikorp was also announced in the presence of two heads of state and delegations from the Government of India and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

Defense cooperation in the procurement of BrahMos missiles and AAMs is also part of a total of 16 cooperation documents announced during PM Modi's state visit.

PM Modi, while delivering his joint statement with President Prabowo at the Credentials Room of the Merdeka Palace on Tuesday, reiterated India's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Indonesia in various fields including defense, disaster management, and security, particularly in the Indian Ocean waters.

"Today we agreed to enhance cooperation in defense exchanges, disaster management, and industrial cooperation. The two countries' coast guards will also work together to ensure maritime security in the Indian Ocean," Modi said.
