The Indonesian boxing team surpassed its achievement target at the 2026 Asian Boxing U19 and U23 event at the Basket Hall, Senayan, Jakarta, by collecting one gold medal, one silver, and five bronze.
"Yes, exceeded our target, because we are aware of our capabilities said Hengky Silatang, Secretary General of the Indonesian Boxing Association.
In that event, the Indonesian team as the host collected seven medals, namely one gold medal presented by Anggie Intania Chalik in the U19 women's light flyweight class (45-48kg), one silver from Dira Artika who also won silver in the U19 women's featherweight class (57kg).
Meanwhile, five bronze medals were won by Linda Sarui Langi Malin (women's minimum class Maria Mesita Manguntu Joshua Toni Marties Lahin and Viktor Wengkang.
Hengky explained that the Indonesian team included 19 athletes to compete in the event and had not previously targeted winning a gold medal.
