Indonesia has received AI-Net Certification and WBBA Gigacity Certification from the World Broadband Association , along with international awards, for demonstrating its readiness for national digital infrastructure.
According to a government press release on Friday, the announcement regarding the certification and awards was made at the Broadband Development Summit APAC 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 14, 2026.
"This unified global certification standard validates Indonesia's long-term digital transformation strategy and will further accelerate the development of high-quality, intelligent network infrastructure across the country," said Denny Setiawan, Director of Digital Infrastructure Strategy and Policy at the Ministry of Communication and Digital.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital, along with Indonesian telecommunications operators, received awards for successfully demonstrating digital infrastructure readiness.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital received the AI Net Country 2026 Award for successfully demonstrating the readiness of the national digital infrastructure to support the development of an internet network based on artificial intelligence, IPv6, and Net5.5G technology.
Meanwhile, the Gigabit City Award was achieved thanks to the success of driving Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) penetration from 25 percent to 35 percent as well as the implementation of policies deemed progressive in digital economic transformation at the national and ASEAN regional levels.
