Jacksen Ferreira Tiago, a member of the Hydroplus Soccer League All-Stars 2025/2026 Talent Scouting Team, stated that Indonesia has an abundant supply of young female midfielders, after monitoring players during the selection process for the 2026 Srikandi Merdeka Cup, August 14-23.
He revealed that the midfield sector is the position with the most outstanding potential among the players being monitored for the needs of the two women's U16 national teams competing later.
"I've already put forward several names, probably around 20, mostly in midfield. There are also defenders, but the greatest potential lies in the midfield," said Jacksen while monitoring the semifinal match of the U15 category in the 2025/2026 HSL All-Stars at the Supersoccer Arena in Kudus Regency.
Together with coaches Timo Scheunemann and Takumi Taniguchi (Taki), he helped compile a list of players who would be called up to participate in the training camp (TC).
According to the Brazilian coach, the results of monitoring for almost a week have shown that many young players have promising individual qualities.
Jacksen believes that ongoing coaching is a crucial factor in ensuring these players' development and even their ability to make it to the senior national team in the future.
During the talent scouting process, he will help put forward the names of the best players which will ultimately be filtered down to a total of 46 players to be divided into two teams of 23 players each.
Both teams will be handled directly by Coach Timo and Coach Taki at the 2026 Srikandi Merdeka Cup.
